I cannot wait till things settle down here. Ever feel like your world is turned upsidedown and no matter how you try to look at the glass half full ... it's really really hard to do that????
Yeah
Well, that's where I'm at. I'm SO not happy where I am at this point of my life. I figured I'd be further along in so many aspects of it, and I'm just not there. now, I know that things will turn out ok ... they usually do. Life is full of peaks and valleys and I'm in a valley at the moment. The climb to the next peak seem so far away and really steep, but I know that I'll make it there ... I know it ... with love and support from my friends and family ... we'll get there.
It just takes time.

A lazy day was spent
It's nearly 10pm on a Saturday night and I am about to head off to bed. Yep, it's official ... I'm an old, boring married woman. Ah, well.
Sean had his heart broken today. The little guy from across the street, Dylan, who happens to be an only child and only 2 months older than Sean, was over playing. Now, Ryan really enjoys Dylan's company and the two of them ride their bikes around and have a great time. Sean, for some reason, will not go on his bike. Now it is for this reason that Sean was Dylan's target today. Dylan showed up here, like he usually does ... in full force. He came down stairs and the boys were playing fine. Then, it happened. Between Sean and Dylan, one of them had Batman and the other wanted it. Words were exchanged, and Dylan left, saying he wasn't going to be Sean's friend anymore.
Sean had never heard these words.
He was devastated. He came up to me with this sad, I've-just-lost-my-best-friend kind of look and fell into my arms.
I wanted to smack Dylan!
But, I was a kid and remember how I felt when I was told these things. They'll get over it. I'll tell you though, that's a pretty heart wrenching thing for a Mummy to handle. Poor little Sean, I felt so bad for him.
Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully we'll not have a repeat of today's events. So, now that's it's after 10pm, I'm going to go grab my book and head off to bed.
G'nite! & Sweet dreams!

TGIF
What a beautiful Friday. The sun is out, the air is crisp ... brrrrr. Great sleeping/baking/cooking weather. I love autumn ... the leaves are changing colours so that everything around us is vibrant, bright and beautiful.
Sean picked up a red maple leaf off the ground the other day and showed it to his father and said; "Look Daddy ... it's Canada!" That's my boy!! He went apple picking with his playschool this morning and was quite put out that he didn't get to bring any apples home with him. I asked him how many apples he picked and he scowled at me and said; "ONLY ONE!! That's all they'd let me have!" I'm sure Sean would have eaten half the orchard ... he loves apples. And, as always, there's a "pumpkin patch" and that's where Sean wants to hang out when he goes to places like this. He said that when we go apple picking next weekend, he wants us to pick 100 pumpkins and bring them all home, and that I'm to empty out all of my baskets so we can fill them with pumpkins. He's so cute!
I'm not working this weekend so we plan on spending a real "family" weekend. My aunts (my dad's sisters) are up at my parents visiting as we'll be up there as well. Ryan wants to start decorating for Halloween so I must dig out some decorations and perhaps find some crafts for him to do this weekend, as it seems like it's going to rain tomorrow and Sunday.
But it's sunny today, and (so far) all's right with the world.

New Blog
Well ... this is the only blog spot that I could see where I could add video, and since Chris de Burgh's new video is now out, I can show it here ...
I'm new to this site, so I'll be playing with it a bit ... I will be adding to it as I learn more about it. In the meantime, enjoy some fantastic new music from Chris de Burgh!
Cheers,
Kelly
